Kimberly Metz, DVM Dr. Metz grew up in Fairbury, Illinois and has lived in Illinois her entire life. She attended Prairie Central High School and graduated in 2004. She first attended college at Eastern Illinois University and continued at University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2011. Dr. Metz has been a part of MAH's staff since July 2011. She shares her home with 3 dogs: a Lab mix - Chunk, a Pitbull mix - Miya, a Chihuahua mix - Noel, and 1 cat - Missy. |
Sarah Withey, DVM Dr. Withey grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana and moved to the Munster area after graduating college.
She attended Purdue in West Lafayette for both her undergraduate classes and vet school. There she studied small animal and equine medicine. Dr. Withey has been working for Munster Animal Hospital since she graduated college in 2007. She shares her house with her four-legged kids: 2 kitties - Merlin & George, and spirited doberman pup named Dante. She also has a goofy horse named Arthur. Other than medicine, Dr. Withey's interests include horses, parelli natural horsemanship, hiking, reading and relaxing whenever she gets the chance. |

Lisa - Vet Assistant Lisa has been an Indiana resident for her entire life, and graduated from Highland High School. She has worked as a vet assistant at MAH for 10 years. She shares her home with her 2 year old daughter - Kylie, her 3-legged doberman/shepherd mix - Missy Mae, and her long haired kitty - Cohotta. We have been honored to share the last decade with Lisa, and hoping for many more years to come!

Danielle - Vet Tech Danielle is originally from Lansing, Illinois and moved to Indiana about 8 years ago. She graduated high school from Lake Central in 2007. She then attended Fox college and became a certified veterinary technician in December 2010. She originally worked in kennel at MAH for 1 1/2 years before starting as a vet tech. She shares her home with two Malteses - Tinkerbell (in photo) and Tiara. Danielle loves to travel and has been to many different place. She is also a certified scuba diver and loves to swim. Thank you, Danielle, for sharing your many talents with us at MAH! |
Caryssa - Animal Caregiver Caryssa has lived in Indiana her entire life. She graduated from Lake Central in 2009 and then attended I.V.N. for 3 semesters. She is now studying to be coming an licensed veterinary technician. Caryssa has been an employee of MAH for only 3 months, but has made great strides in her training since she started. She shares her home with 2 cats - Zero and Binx, and 3 sugar gliders - Tiko, Myla, and Kiya. One of her special hobbies is water skiing at her lake house. |

Administration

Karen - Administrative Assistant Karen is originally from Highland, Indiana and has lived there all of her life. She graduated from Highland High School, then Purdue University, and is in the process of starting her MBA. Karen has worked at MAH for a year and a half. She shares her life with her husband Tim, and her furry kids: Frankie - 5-yr-old Westie-poo, Marley - 2-yr-old mutt, Jack Bauer - 3-yr-old Jack Russell mix. Marley enjoys stealing dirty socks and hiding them in the back yard. Jack enjoys belly rubs and chasing airplanes. Frankie enjoys cuddling with his momma and going for walks. He does not, however, enjoy sharing with his two new brothers! Karen enjoys travel, studying modern architectural and interior design, and making people laugh. In her spare time, she does graphic design and is the junior high pastor at her church. She'd like to find the time to finish learning to play guitar someday. |
Receptionists
Susanne Susanne grew up in Calumet City and moved to Hammond in the 80s. She attended school at Bishop Noll Institue, then Thorton Community College (now South Suburban Community College) where she majored in art and minored in business. She has been a member of the MAH team for 4 years. She considers her animals her "furry kids" - a dalmation - Bustoff, a lab/golden-doodle - Grover, 4 kitties - Comet, Bobcat, Sparkplug, & Woodhouse, and 1 spotted saddle horse (with blue eyes) - Blue. She also shares her life with "one great hubby" - Charlie. Susanne is a certified mounted S.A.R. member (search & rescue). She also enjoys spending time with her "kids", camping, fishing, horse back riding, and traveling whenever she can.

Jessica -Design Manager & Receptionist Jessica is originally from California, but considers her hometown Scottsboro, Alabama. She has lived in Indiana for about 2 1/2 years and has been a part of the MAH staff since she moved. Jess attended Northeast Alabama Community College for Biology/Pre-Vet/Zoology. She then attended Auburn University for 2 1/2 years and studied Zoology Conservation. Jess shares her home with 3 cockatiels - Daisy, Sweetpea & Simon, a black capped conure - Midori, a triton cockatoo - Bird, a blue crown conure - Kongo, 3 kitties - Gabe, Sora, and Chance, and her boyfriend - Jay. Jess used to travel with her grandparents every summer when she was young which resulted in trips to 48 states, Mexico, and Canada. She loves traveling "home" whenever she gets the chance. She loves birds and rehabilitating fearful or shy animals. She also loves to camp, fish, hike, and share picnics with her friends. |

Jake Jake is originally from Hammond, but moved to Griffith during his teen years. He attended Griffith High School, and now is a student at Purdue Cal - majoring in History and minoring in Philosophy. Jake has been an employee of MAH for 2 years. He shares his home with his beagle/basset mix - Sherlock, his mini daschund - Rusty, and his two kitties - Zipper and Ezekiel. Before he started working at MAH, Jake worked in restaurants. He has traveled to the United Kingdown twice and loves playing his guitar. |
Michelle Michelle has been a resident of Indiana for 20 years - all of her life. She when to Morton High School and graduated in 2009. She now attends Purdue Calumet University and studies English writing and is minoring in journalism. Michelle has been an employee of MAH since May 2009. She shares her home with her cat - Baby, and her family's cats - Belle and Kitty Fu Fu. Michelle has been learning the German language for 5 years and according to her, she is an "extremely severly ultra omega nerd". |

Grooming Staff
April April has lived in Indiana for over 30 years and graduated from Oak Forrest. Since she was 15 years old, she has volunteered at many different humane societies and has worked as a groomer for 27 years. She has spent 5 of those years with us here at MAH. She shares her home with her son, Hunter. She also has 3 furry children: her rottweiler - Aurora, a maine coon kitty - Flame, and a rat terrier - Tia aka Miss Tea. Some of her favorite memories involve traveling to numerous states with her son for his Tai Kwon Do tournaments. |

Jamie Jaime has lived in Indiana her entire life; however, she thinks of southwest Florida as her second home due to vacationing there often. She made her start in grooming as a brusher/bather and transitioned into grooming over the course of 3 years. She has been working for MAH for 4 years total. Jamie may not have any human kids, but she thinks of her pets as her "furry children": two Golden Retrievers - Sampson & Rupert, a German Shepherd - Kita, a Chihuahua mix - Matisse; she also has 8 kitties: Knick Knak, Hercules, Kitten aka Gidget, Chandler, Smokey, Lulu, and Jack & Diane. Before she joined us at MAH, she worked at the humane societies of Munster and Gary. Also, Jamie worked at a before & after school program for elementry school students in Munster. |
Vidal Vidal was born in Illinois, but has lived in Indiana for the past 20 years. He has been a member of our staff for 3 years as a bather. He has one 2 year old son named Aiden - "he is my world". He also shares his home with their two dogs: a Kane Corso Mastiff - Karma, and a Pitt Bull - Kimbo. Besides spending time with his family, Vidal enjoys landscaping, construction, and working on cars. |
